Hello lovelies! I haven't made a simple flatlay in a while so I wanted to make one for you guys : )
I love flatlays because I think it gives everyone the opportunity to envision the look on themselves rather than someone else's body, which is awesomeeee! Fashion is supposed to inspire, and what can possibly be better than an image of an outfit that anyone can imagine themselves in! In this look I decided to use simple, muted colors and combine casual, yet chic elements to create an overall cohesive look.
For the top I used one of my favorite Brandy Melville crops (I love the back detailing!) but any simple t-shirt in a solid color would work well with this look.
For the pants I decided to go with my ultra-distressed One Teaspoon Awesome Baggies in Cobain. These are by far my favorite if you're looking for that boyfriend style, torn-up denim look. (I recommend sizing down as they do run big!)
My choice for outerwear was this super soft, amazingly comfortable flannel from Rails. I am completely obsessed with Rails! Yes, they are a bit pricey, but the quality of their flannels is unlike anything else! They are incredibly comfortable, and their color/print selection is always on point. Since it is now officially fall (despite LA being in the 80's...seriously what's up with that?!) flannel season is definitely upon us, and they are a closet staple for me because of their easy layering abilities, especially with denim!
For the shoes I decided to go with my Dolce Vita white sneakers. I'm usually a boots girl (as you can see on my Instagram the constant usage of my Zigi Soho lace-ups and other booties) but a pair of chic sneakers are just the perfect addition to a casual outfit. These Dolce Vita sneakers are soooo comfortable! I actually recently wore them on my trip to Bogota, and I was so happy to have a chic, yet walkable shoe in my suitcase as we were traveling. They have an sturdy, semi-platformed sole that also gives me a nice boost in height (being the shorty that I am) and look great with a lot of different pieces. I definitely recommend adding a white sneaker to your closet (but make sure you keep them clean!)
My bag choice was easy - ever since I got my mini bucket bag from Marc Jacobs I have been completely obsessed and want it in every color! It's mini, yes, but not so mini that you can't fit your essentials in it. I have no issues storing my iphone, a small wallet, and some makeup for when I go out. I love the shape of this bag and the leather is beautiful. It also comes in tan and some fun seasonal colors, so you may eventually see another version of this cute little bucket-bag in a future post!
