Fantasizing About Fall

Hi everyoneeeeeee

So as the days go by and it gets closer and closer to the official time for fall fashion I keep getting more and more excited for fall!  I went to college in Ohio so I know a thing or two about REAL cold, but now I live in the everlasting summer that is Los Angeles. Sometimes however, it does get justtt cold enough at night here for me to justify throwing on some extra layers. Fall for me is the time for cozy layers, warm neutral colors, and hot cocoa.

I love layering. Instead of just wearing one very, very warm layer (I have rocked a down Northface jacket in zero degree weather, it happens when it's necesssary!) I love to use multiple pieces that when worn all together, keep me cozy and comfortable. I love the look of multiple fabrics and materials blending together to create a cohesive look.

Chunky knits:

One of my favorite ways to layer is with a good chunky knit cardigan/sweater/scarf or any combo of those! Cozy knits like this with a nice leather jacket or trench as outerwear make the perfect cozy, fall look:

Thigh Highs:

No matter how cold it gets, I am always willing to wear a skirt or a dress accompanied by tights and nice pair of thigh high socks! I have thigh highs in so many different colors - black, beige, maroon - there are endless ways to style thigh highs:

Scarves:

I loveeeeeeeee scarves! I have ones that are super lightweight and small, and others that end up feeling like I've wrapped myself in a blanket! My neck tends to get cold easily during the fall and winter months, so I always end up having some sort of layering piece around my neck (even if it's just a turtleneck!)

Jackets:

Another reason why fall is one of my favorite seasons! The outerwear is SO much fun! This is when I finally get to break out my trench coats, leather jackets, and (faux) fur vests!

Current Obsession: White and Denim

I don't know what it is, but I seriously cannot get enough of white tops and denim! It always delivers, and even if I'm feeling uninspired, this classic look never lets me down. There are so many fun variations of this simple look it's impossible not to get addicted! There are ways of pairing denim and white that are super chic, or easy and casual. Here are some examples:

Online Shopping Steals

As an avid thrifter and sale-hunter, I am always out there looking for high-quality merchandise with the best deal! I love shopping fast-fashion sites, but every once in a while I like to splurge (a little) on a luxury item that has been marked down. My favorirte sites to find these steals:

Hautelook:

I love Hautelook! I go on this site constantly. They have tons of stuff. I've gotten everything from jewerly, dresses, to shoes on this site. One of my favorite finds was a pair of Via Spiga pointed toe ankle-strap pumps:

Gilt // www.gilt.com

Gilt is definitely higher-end, and even marked down, I still cannot splurge on most of the mechandise they have available. However, I always like to check because you can really find some amazing stuff super marked down! I got one of my favorite Marc by Marc Jacobs totes from Gilt for about 70% off! Definitely worth checking out. Gilt also carries certain brands all the time, one of which I love: Ava and Aiden. I got a really beautiful pair of blush pink heeled sandals for a great price, and they look amazing with everything!

Rue La La // www.ruelala.com

I have found some really great cashmeres and outerwear from this site! they carry great brands and the price-points vary, so you can usually find something that suits your needs. my only issue with this site: the search/layout isn't quite as user friendly as Hautelook and Gilt. One of my favorite finds was a cream cashmere duster cardigan by Autumn Cashmere. It's so soft and looks good with every outfit!
